Sue Haylock Memorial – Excellence in VET Award

This Award is for outstanding commitment to achievement of a vocational qualification and will be open to all categories – e.g. Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Vet in schools etc.

The criteria for the award is about the commitment to achievement.

The judging criteria includes:

  • Exceptional circumstances – e.g. distances travelled, physical or financial barriers
  • Vocational achievement – recognition by training providers of the standard and commitment to achievement of the qualification
  • Achievements in the workplace – e.g. awards/recognition by employers or industry
  • Achievements in the community – involvement in, or recognition by community groups


The judging panel consists of:

1 representative from State Training Services

1 representative from an AASN and

1 from Joblinkplus (3 in total).


Candidates for the award will be chosen from the existing individual Training Award categories and may be nominated by the selection panels for those categories.


A perpetual award with the yearly winner receiving a small trophy to keep and their name/year recorded on a larger trophy. The perpetual trophy will reside at State Training Services, Noel Park House Tamworth.


Joblinkplus sponsor the perpetual trophy and the yearly trophy and pay $500 to the award winner.
