History

The foundation meeting for the Greater Northern Region Trainer and Assessor Network was held on March 30th, 2009.  At that time, a survey of our trainer and assessor members was conducted.  The outcomes of this survey were used to develop the principle objectives and priorities of the Network.

Members wanted to see the network offer a variety of professional development activities, including; half and full day workshops, unstructured networking opportunities and web-based resources.  Members were particularly interested in hearing from invited guest speakers on vocational education and training (VET) topics and issues, as they arose in the sector.

Since March 2009 the trainer and assessor’s network has been formally auspised by the Greater Northern Skills Development Group Inc.
